The Swachh Bharat Mission was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014, with a resolution to achieve Open Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2 October 2019. The task was to build toilets and to bring necessarybehavioural change among the community towards open defecation. Mumbai the financial capital of India has been fighting open Defecation since long. To put an end to open Defecation and to speed up this process the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai decided to install Portable Community Toilets at different locations in Mumbai. Many private companies joined hands with BMC under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to participate in this campaign.
Case Study
Around 50 Community Toilets of different sizes were ordered to MetalSquare. These ready to use portable toilets were fitted with all required plumbing accessories. Special attention was given towards the strength and stability of these porta toilets as a majority of these toilets were to be installed in Slum areas. MetalSquare was proud to be a part of this cleanliness mission by the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai.
